We own two of these poly-wood adirondack chairs. They have been out on our deck for two years now, exposed to all kinds of weather including snow and ice this year. They look brand new, were not difficult to put together, very comfortable to sit in. You don't lean back quite as far as the normal wood adirondack chair which is really good for my lower bad back. Our friends love them too. Many have purchased white ones for the Florida weather scene, we got the black ones and they are really sharp looking. Our friends got the round coffee table and 4 chairs after seeing ours. I cannot say enough good things about Poly-Wood chairs. No work involved. And heavy enough to not blow around, but not so heavy you can't move them when you want to. We would really like to get more of them but would have to build a bigger deck! Ours compliment the faux wicker sofa set we have. People love it beause it is our outdoor living room. They head toward the adirondack chars first though! Very comfortable to sit in.
I had wooden adirondack chairs, a must with them is to paint with an oil base paint. However this should be done once a season. After pressure washing and painting you would have about 2 hours in each chair x 5 chairs. Then after four season the chairs are rotten. The polywood chairs look great are very comfortable and have enough weight to them (same as wooden) that I'm not worried about them blowing of the dock. Time will tell but I feel confident that if there would be problem the manufacturer will back them up.
I can't say enough about these chairs! They are not only comfortable to sit in, but they are fun to look at! The colors are bright and do not fade one bit! You can even see a "wood grain" through the color. You really have to ask yourself if it is wood or not! I ordered two and then after putting them together and seeing how beautiful they were, I bought two more! I get tons of compliments on them. The only flaw is the price! But...if you think of how many wooden chairs you would go through year after year..the price is worth every penny! You will want an electric screwdriver to put these together. I killed myself with the first one before I smartened up and got the Makita out. No husband needed! I did it all by myself!
Received these chairs (and a matching side table) and just love them. The color is bright and festive, the chairs feel sturdy & have a good weight to them. Not so heavy that I can't move them around the yard, but also not so light that they'll blow away in the first storm. A bit challenging to put together w/o power tools, but I managed it fine in about 35 minutes.
